We did Moby Dick! the Musical at my high school last year, and our mast fell because the threading on the screws that held it loosened. One of our senior castmembers picked it up, screwed it back in and played it off as nothing (along with the rest of the cast). After the show, when we told some of our friends and family members who saw the show about the mast malfunction, they thought it was added for dramatic effect or something. Hey, it worked out well.

When I was in the production of Beauty & the Beast, during the scene when the Beast catches Belle in the wing of the house and gets upset, his huge cape knocked over the rose and case (which was real glass) and there was shattered glass everywhere!!! Everyone thought it was part of the show until we had to break for “technical difficulties” to clean up the glass because the wolf dancers had to roll on the stage and there was glass..It turned out alright though haha:)
